You can install your Octopus Undergrip using either the IPA application spray or the roll-on tool supplied with older orders. Application spray is now included in every package.
Double-sided tape is required for both methods. Without it, the grip may slip.
Method 1: Application spray
- Strip the handle. Remove the old grip and clean the handle down to the bare surface.
- Tape the handle. Apply double-sided tape along the handle.
- Spray the handle. Spray 3 times on each side of the handle and once on the top.
- Spray the grip. Spray inside the grip from both ends.
- Roll to spread. Gently squeeze and roll the grip between your fingers to spread the spray over the entire inner surface.
- Fit and dry. Slide the grip onto the handle, adjust its position, then leave it to dry for 12–24 hours before play.
- Add an overgrip. Wrap your usual overgrip on top and you are ready to play.
Method 2: Roll-on tool
If your order came with the plastic roll-on tool, follow the step-by-step demonstration:
Remove the old grip and clean the handle down to the bare surface before starting. Double-sided tape is required with this method too.
If you find the roll-on tool difficult to use, you can switch to the IPA spray method above. Follow all of its steps, including the 12–24-hour drying time before play.
