The Octopus Undergrip has a wall thickness of approximately 1.5 mm, making it a close replacement for a typical racket base grip, which is around 1.3–2 mm thick.
Before installation, remove your existing overgrip and base grip. Install the Octopus onto the prepared handle, following our installation instructions, then wrap your usual overgrip on top.
Depending on the base grip you’re replacing, the finished handle may feel slightly thicker. However, Octopus is soft and compresses in your hand, so the difference in feel is usually less pronounced than its thickness alone might suggest.
The final grip size also depends on your chosen overgrip and how you wrap it. Octopus is designed to replace the base grip, rather than increase the handle by a specific racket grip size.
